How can you protect yourself if you get called into the office?

Here are some do's and don'ts to help you protect your job:

Ask for Your Steward. If management calls you into the office, ask for your steward. It's your right to have union representation and a witness.

Keep Your Cool. Management may try to intimidate you or put pressure on you. Don't let them. Keep your cool.

Step Outside with Your Steward. You have a right to ask for a break so that you can talk privately with your steward. If you have a question about your rights or what you should do, call a timeout and talk it over with your steward.

If management gives you a warning letter that you do not deserve, talk to your steward and file a grievance. Do it right away so that you don't miss any deadline. You can always withdraw your grievance if you change your mind.
