After months of intense negotiations, the Local 812 negotiating committee was able to reach an agreement for a new contract with Liberty Coca Cola. If ratified by the membership, the new contract would be the best contract Local 812 Coke members have received in over 25 years.
The new contract calls for significant annual raises and preserves your Local 812 health care benefits and paid leave. The contract also provides significant retirement security to Local 812 members. The Local 812 Executive Board unanimously recommends ratification of the new contract which was presented to the Union Negotiation Committee Monday evening.
Highlights of the tentative agreement include:
- Annual percentage raises over the Life of the Contract. First Contract in 25 Years with all percentage Raises. (No Flats)
- Full Funding of Health Care Fund at no cost to participants
- Pension Funded to over 100% with “guard rails” to preserve earned pension benefits
- New 401k Plan co-administered by the Union and Company Trustees.
- Elimination of all existing speeding infractions from our members records.
- CDL incentive program that pays $8,000 to any interested employee over a two-year period
- Elimination of step pay for merchandisers
The committee successfully fought back company efforts to increase mandatory overtime. The Local 812 Executive Board and Negotiating Committee will be distributing a detailed summary of the tentative agreement this week prior to conducting a ratification vote of the entire Liberty Coca-Cola Membership.
