A life-long trade unionist, Joseph Vitta began working at Pepsi-Cola as a member of Local 812 in 1974.  He was later elected as a Business Agent/Trustee to the Union’s Executive Board and served 39 years on the Executive board and has had the position as President and Principal Officer of Local 812 for the past 8 years.

His legacy is a powerful local union that continues to set the highest nationwide standards in the Soft Drink and Brewery industry.  Generations of Local 812 members and their families are grateful for President Vitta’s leadership and commitment, which will be felt for many years to come.

Joseph Vitta will be greatly missed, but he leaves Local 812 in the hands of a strong and experienced Executive Board that is prepared to steer our union in the years ahead.  We wish Brother Vitta the long and happy retirement he richly deserves.  Solidarity forever!
