At the June general membership meeting, the Local 812 Scholarship Committee celebrated our scholarship recipients for the 2023-2024 academic year. The union’s all volunteer scholarship committee has awarded more than 1 million dollars to the children of Local 812 members over the past 19 years.

This year, 12 students were given scholarships (link to full list). The top two recipients, Amanda Rogosky and Daniela Mare, were each awarded the $10,000 Betty and Anthony Vaccaro Memorial Scholarship. Special thanks to Bettaway President John Vaccaro, who generously funded the two memorial scholarships.

The Local 812 scholarship is entirely funded by donations. Local 812 members volunteer their time to administer and raise money for the fund, while the awards are decided by an independent group.
We encourage everyone to support the fund by volunteering or participating in a benefit event. A golf outing is planned for October 16th at the Woodside Club in Syosset. Call (631) 546-1437 for more information.
